Commitments & Memberships
We are partnering with our colleagues in the packaging industry to implement powerful changes to plastics manufacturing and the reuse of plastic.
As a signatory of Ellen MacArthur’s New Plastics Economy Global Commitment, Aptar is setting targets and making public commitments related to our products.
Aptar is committed to achieve 10 percent recycled material content for our dispensing solutions for the beauty, personal care, home care, food and beverage markets by 2025.
This is an evolving target due to the limited availability of material suitable for our markets because of regulatory constraints and customer policies. Aptar is actively working to identify and qualify new technologies in this space, such as post-consumer resins and food contact certified recycled resins.
In alignment with the guidelines and targets set as signatories, Aptar products will be 100 percent recyclable, reusable or compostable by 2025 for our dispensing solutions for the beauty, personal care, home care and food and beverage markets.
Science Based Targets
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
The aim is to establish science-based climate targets as standard business practice. Aptar has set scope 1 & 2 emissions reduction goals consistent with requirements to keep global warming well-below 2° Celsius by year 2030, and scope 3 goals in line with 2° Celsius. These science-based targets were validated by the SBTi steering committee in July of 2020.
Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging
To be a strong and effective company, we realize we must be diverse and inclusive and create a space for engagement and empowerment of our employees. Aptar is committed to promoting and sustaining a sense of belonging for all individuals.
By 2022, we have a target to have at least 25 percent of all Aptar leaders at the vice president level and above as women. By 2025, this ratio will increase to at least 30 percent women.
Aptar has been named as a Catalyst CEO Champions for Change company as well as a Corporate Champion by Women’s Forum.
We collaborate with those who share our aspirations to cultivate an inclusive and intentional system. Knowing that circularity, sustainable development and climate action cannot be achieved alone, working with suppliers and partners is critical to achieving not only Aptar’s internal targets, but also global societal goals.
In addition to expanding partnerships with customers and suppliers, we look to establish additional partnerships in all regions to facilitate circular packaging systems.
Along with others, the partnerships listed below improve our skills and knowledge, support our sustainability pillars and maximize our impact.
