Aptar Pharma early recognized the potential of preservative-free multi-dose systems for nasal, dermal and ophthalmic products. For unpreserved products it is mandatory to demonstrate microbial integrity of the container-closure combination even under challenging conditions. In cooperation with internationally recognized microbiological laboratories we developed test standards in order to show proper functioning  of the devices during development and to provide acceptable microbial challenge methods to prove in-use integrity.
